Must admit, I thought I was all umb-er-ella-ella-ella'd out of Rihanna, but she's just won my heart back with two of her recent songs/music vids and NO it is not Take a Bow (I'm about sick of that song too). Rihanna has been relentless in her release of hit after hit [which is crazy amazing] howwwwever it sucks when the radio plays them every hour on the hour-- can you say overkill? So needless to say I was beginning to resent our little friend Rihanna UNTIL I watched these music videos and O. M. G.

This vlog is slightly embarrassing to watch myself. Yet why I am posting it for random strangers to see I will never get.

Drugs are your friend

Okay so the title may be a little misleading.

I’m no druggie, but I am a believer in the assistance of meds when necessary.
Let me explain…

For over a week now my sleep schedule has been way off. I usually work nights- get off around 10:30- stay up (doing nothing) until 5 in the morning-then I end up sleeping in till 1 in the afternoon. It got to the point where I’d lie in bed forcing myself to try to sleep and just could NOT do it. I was officially nocturnal. I can’t begin to tell you how frustrating it is to have your entire day gone when you finally wake up.

I asked my roommate if she had any Tylenol P.M. – she didn’t, but she did have xanex. I took one after work and within an hour I was knocked out in the middle of watching Jon and Kate Plus 8 (looove that show btw). The next morning I roll over to see my alarm clock reads 8 AM! I get out of bed, check the computer, and wait for it….. WORK OUT! Whaaaat? I actually got my ass on the elliptical for 30 minutes. Words can’t describe how great I felt. I feel like a whole new woman!

I proceeded to deposit my check at the bank, run the dishwasher, fold my clothes, and clean my terribly messy room—all things I have been "meaning to do" but never was awake to get done. I even drove to a local deli and treated myself to a nice hearty breakfast of biscuits and gravy and scrambled eggs.

Side note: I think every once in a while you should eat at a restaurant by yourself… it can be somewhat calming. Just me, my food, and my book.

So in conclusion, xanex saved my life. Okay okay so xanex is one of those drugs that are abused far too often, especially amongst college students. Combined with alcohol, xanex can accelerate intoxication and obviously isn’t safe. But thanks to this one tiny pill I’m back on my game. Hallelujah!

Today = Amazing.

Heather (best friend) came to visit me and our 3rd musketeer Brittany. We went out on the lake and the weather was perfection. No thunder, no lightning, no rain, no interruptions. Just SUN! We built up an appetite after our lovely hour long paddle ride and decided Mexican was on the menu for the night. We stopped at a Mexican restaurant for din din and let me just say this place is my new fav—fer sure

uno pitcher of strawberry margaritas and dos pitchers of pina coladas later somehow we find ourselves sporting sombreros and making friends with our fantastic server Wilber… errr I think that’s what his name was.

Oh man these are the times I can’t get enough of.

Friends can be such blessings.

My Hair Smells Like Smoke...and I have a stalker

Woohooo my very first blog everrr!!!!!
I feel as if I should warn you now that there will be spelling errors and although I may occasionally "report" on celebs I am no perezhilton. I have zero connections to hollywood and all of its lovely starlets, but I'd (not) like to think I'm usually up on my popculture. Basically I decided to start a blog for probably the same reason most want to...just to share my life experiences on a daily basis and type out what's on my mind. I have a bizarre fascination with people. I'm the type of person that could sit in an airport and just people watch all day. And I mean that in the least sketchiest way possible. weird I know. So if anything I hope to get to know some of my fellow bloggers/readers and maybe, if I'm lucky, even get some feedback. But enough of this riff-raft. ya I just said riff-raft so deal. Lets move on to last night.

I'm back home for a few days--happy 4th of july by the way--and decided after a day at the beach I'd join some girlfriends at a bar/club called Rodeo.

Let me back track a bit and fill you in on my hometown first. This place is small, country (for the most part), and there is nothing to do. Typical activities include mudding, drinking, and bonfires. It's a community where everybody knows everybody...and their business. you get the idea.

So apparently Rodeo is the new place to be on Thursday nights and since there's nothing else to do why not? I like to dance. even line-dancing is okay with me. Upon my arrival I get both hands marked with permanent marker and am now rockin the black Xs to publicly verify that I am indeed under 21. yay. Immediately I spot my friends and we make our way to the dance floor. We dance. the music is fine. normal right? Later I'm chatting with the homies when I notice a guy's head very obviously moving around my friend in order to be in my view. I smile courteously unsure if he was looking at me or not. Howwwwever after a few dozen times I start to get the picture he is definitely trying to get my attention and I definitely do not know him.

Now I realize that reading this, it may not seem as creepy and its more of a 'you had to be there' moment, but pleease just try to imagine talking with a friend while a guy behind her is poking around to be in your eyesight and making hand gestures to join him. it's odd. trust.

This guy was a bold one, I'll give him that. But I think I can speak on behalf of most women when I say that begging for our attention like a 5 yr old to his mommy is NOT attractive. So I finally shake my head in a horizontal 'no thank you' manner towards the gentleman and hope he stops.

A slow song comes on and up walks a different dude. He asks if either my friend or I would care to dance with him. Unfortunately my friend anticipated this question far before I did and quickly replies with "Ya she would love to!" oooh don't you just love best friends. I give her my ican'tbelieveyoujustdidthatyoulittlebitch look, which she happily returns with her devilishohyesididjustdothatgrin. And just like that I'm whisked onto the dance floor with a drunk stranger. great. I've always admired guys that have the balls to ask random chicks to dance, but come on its a little awkward no matter what. So we slow dance and I'm relieved when he grabs my one hand and places his other hand on my back. I just couldn't handle the middle school hip grabbage dancing. Glancing over his shoulder I can see my so-called BFF with her big ass smile of accomplished embarrassment. I send a nice little birdie her way. This guy is obviously dancing to his own song because we were noticeably several sways faster than the DJ's music. And just as he is trying to convince me to let him 'teach me some moves'-- including spins, swings, and twirls--the song ends and I am praising Jesus. Another slow song begins and I frantically search for my bestie. I want to return the favor. We lock eyes and just as I'm about to pass him off she beats me to the punch once again and grabs a guy friend to dance with. Thankfully I'm still able to escape from another dance with Mr. John Travolta and head off the dance floor.

I begin talking with some guys that graduated from my high school, one of which I never really knew, but knew of (i.e. small town). He introduces himself (lets call him Tom) and tells me what he's doing in his life. I introduce myself yada yada yada. Turns out he is actually working in the same field of work I'm going to school for and will hopefully get into once I graduate. awesome. The night progresses and Tom has had one too many beers. Standing with my crew I suddenly feel a little pull on my shirt. I turn around to see who it could be, but see no one looking back and decide it must have either been my imagination or a mistake and resume my position. Again I feel a tug. again I look. no one is there and my confusion grows. The next time it happens, what began as a tug has now turned into a legitimate rub. Who the hell is rubbing my back??? seriously what is going on. and then it is suddenly occurs to me Tom, who has been standing to the right of me, is in fact the source to this impromptu back rub! Really? So I do what any girl would do and nonchalantly lean to my left and whisper to my friend what is going down. She witnesses the unwelcomed hand on my back and pulls me away to her other side to 'talk'. phew. I thank her for the rescue and figure he got the picture. Oh how wrong I was.

I just do not understand guys sometimes. I get the fact that girls are complicated and often expect guys to know how they feel even if they don't know how they feel themselves--I speak from experience-- but when you approach/come on to a female and her friend grabs her away from you what does that mean to you??? I honestly hate it when girls act bitchy towards a guy and not only bluntly denies them, but gives them the look too. You know what I'm talking about, the 'I can't even believe you'd think I'd ever like you' look. It's so childish and only shows that you're an insecure person. This is why I often prefer to go the other route by signalling a friend for rescue. It's discreet yet gets the message across no? So why Why WHY do some guys continue to try. Persistence is NOT the key to success in this case!

The entire night Tom became Stalker-Tom. Everywhere I went he followed. no matter how many times both my girl and guy friends acted as barriers between us it never failed. And if he wasn't directly next to me I could feel is eyes just staring at me! It was insane and definitely put a damper on the night. Guys. talk to me. What is going on up there? I realize this is an isolated situation and I am in no way trying to group all men into one big Tom, but this is not the first time it has happened to me or every other girl in this world. So please tell me what to do. There should be some kind of manual out there to provide the signals to send to the opposite sex when you are not interested. It would make things much easier and would prevent myself, along with my fellow females, from running circles around the bar to avoid their Stalker-Tom.

and that was my weird experience at Rodeo. Oh and I saw my old high school softball coach grinding up on a much younger married friend of mine. He too is married. That was not his wife. ew. I'm gonna go shower now because my hair smells like an ash tray. Sorry to my ADD readers, this post was entirely too long. I just felt compelled to share my adventures with you. Hope you guys have a fantastic 4th of July! Eat, drink, and watch fireworks :)
